San Antonio attractions are a mix of present-day sights and reminders of the past. You can find something to do on a San Antonio vacation all year long, and things are happening from sun up through sun down.
There's no place richer with Texas history than San Antonio. The Alamo is San Antonio's most famous historic landmark. You can almost feel the ghosts of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, who died fighting in the Battle of the Alamo, as you tour this mission. In San Antonio Missions National Historic Park you can visit four interesting missions from the 1700s. If you're interested in beautiful old mansions, the King William Historic district spans 25 blocks. San Antonio's first neighborhood was La Villita, and it has since become a bustling artist's community where you can see artisans in action.
For some modern-day fun, take a thrill-filled trip to one of San Antonio's theme parks. At Six Flags® Fiesta Texas, go for a gut-wrenching ride on Superman: Krypton Coaster or get scared out of your wits on Poltergeist. SeaWorld® San Antonio is also a family friendly place. Feed the seals and sea lions in their outdoor habitat or catch a stunning show starring Shamu. For underground entertainment, pretend like you're a spelunker and explore the spectacular Natural Bridge Caverns. San Antonio golf is also becoming one of the great draws to the area.
Once evening comes in San Antonio, you'll be ready for a leisurely stroll along the famous San Antonio River Walk. This area is nicknamed "America's Venice," and it's one of the city's highlights. Stop in to one of the restaurants and enjoy some outstanding San Antonio cuisine. Then, belly up to the bar at one of San Antonio's nightclubs including such favorites as Pat O'Brien's and Howl at the Moon Saloon.
